Pilates Loft


Sue has been a instructor at Pilates Loft since 2010. Being a lifelong athlete, Sue loves the mind body connection that she experiences with her Pilates practice.  After the  birth of her second daughter,  she experienced first hand the benefits of  Pilates to regain and restore her body.
Sue has advanced her training by taking the intensive transitions course from Polestar Studio/ Rehabilitation program. She has also completed courses in pathokinesiology of the spine, scoliosis and advanced assessments. Sue is trained to work with clients from gentle/ post-rehab to athletic performance. Sue recently completed training in painless running analysis and neuro-movement analysis . She believes Pilates is for everybody and is essential to living and healthy active lifestyle.

Tamara founded Pilates Loft in 2008 and has over 20 years of training and experience in Pilates, Yoga, dance and Movement Therapy.  She has a great passion for  movement analysis education and helping individuals understand movement patterns so that positive change can be possible.
Tamara holds a Bachelor of Science in Dance & Pre-Movement Therapy. Her original training began as a apprentice at Core Grace Pilates,. Then she  furthered her certifications in pilates with, Stott Pilates, Pilates Method Alliance and Polestar Pilates Studio/Rehabilitation program.
She has also completed advanced integrative training in anatomy, bionechanics, rehab-based Pilates for spinal pathologies, scoliosis osteoporosis, MS & neurological disorders. Expanding on her education Tamara has completed a immersive training in AIM (anatomy in motion), gait analysis, running bio-mechanics and coaching with Runity   As a dancer, Tamara began her experience of using Pilates, yoga and other movement therapies for a deeper awareness to the body. She has taught for Joffery Ballet Midwest, Interlochen Arts Academy and U of M Dance.  She is also certified and taught Kirplau yoga and pre/postnatal Yoga & Pilates.
Tamara is currently working on certification in Neurokinetic therapy.

Suzanne Willets Brooks is the kind of trainer who personalizes your session to help you move with the most, ease, efficiency, and strength. Her training helps her to immediately see what problems may be occurring in your movement patterns and using a functional approach works with you to facilitate a healthier way to move. Suzanne's approach is one of humor and joy . Her clients include a wide range in ages from 12 year olds to people who have reached the ripe age of 101. Having scoliosis, and pelvic instability issues Suzanne has a first hand understanding of pain and the issues that arise from living with chronic pain. Suzanne has been a life long athlete from gymnastics and cross country running to a variety of dance styles. Movement in all forms are her passion, currently she enjoys dancing exuberantly at weddings and concerts.

Alesia is a lifelong fitness enthusiast and she is passionate about health and wellness. She understands the need for proper form to avoid injury and successful rehabilitation. She is committed to safe and customized training for the individual. She enjoys working with all ages and levels to apply her problem-solving abilities in a creative way. Alesia attends workshops around the country with leading trainers in the field. She was a yoga practitioner for many years including two months of study in India  with B.K.S. Iyengar.

Oliver is our littlest instructor in training and learning from his momma. His skills are growing everyday and he reminds us that the studio is truly a playground of movement. So have fun already!!

Chris’s love affair with Pilates and fitness started in 1990 when she began teaching group classes and later private sessions at the University of Michigan Spine Program and a college course at Eastern Michigan University. She embraces movement as a way to integrate the mind, body and spirit and enjoys working with clients of all levels and skills. Her philosophy is that Pilates in not only a great way to get in shape, but a proven program for managing stress and tapping into the joy of everyday life. Many of her clients have been working with her for 10 years or more because of her passionate approach to health and wellbeing.
After feeling and living what Pilates can do, Chris became a fully certified STOTT Pilates Level 2 instructor, an ACE certified personal trainer and a MELT hand-and-foot instructor. She earned post-rehab and athletic-conditioning specialist certifications through STOTT Pilates. In addition, she is trained in the Gyrotonic Expansion System and TRX Suspension System. 
Chris studied public health at the University of Oregon, where she also was a member of the synchronized swimming team.
